For Kenny, it will be his third season at SJQMA and his second season in the Jr. Honda class. Last year we believe Kenny needed some adjustment time to get use to racing at higher speeds and with some of the older children who he did not know, nor did he feel comfortable driving around. As things progress he learned to adjust and became more mature to developed this process. Unfortunately this did start to happen at the end of 2006 so, we look forward to a more competitive Kenny in 2007.
As for Colin “C.J.” well he just had it rough, training at the track that he wasn’t really going to race at was a challenge but, we got thru it and made some new friends along the way.
I learned a few things along the way also about “C.J.”; he’s very strong willed and is not afraid to get back in the car after he crashes. You can almost say he is fearless when he has his helmet on. Colin is scheduled to repeat novice school and race in the Jr. Novice division again due to his age and very limited racing experience. We’re hopeful that he remembers a lot of what he learned last year so, the learning curve won’t be so steep.
